Deputy legal chief

Steve Miller, 49, is the head of Uber’s human resources department, the company’s second-highest-ranking executive, and has overseen an ongoing investigation into reports of sexual harassment within the company. Most senior executives in that position are not on the board.

Kevin Gonzalez, 50, was Uber’s chief of staff and a leading internal litigator. He was its third-most senior executive, after Miller and Sue James, who leads the legal and ethics team.

Jim Brockman, 53, is the man tasked with finding and integrating competitors into Uber’s ridesharing network, overseeing the little-known Commuter division. It provides rides for drivers who drive single-occupancy vehicles for multiple Uber customers.

Tom Fowler, 54, is the man leading Uber’s growing investments in electric cars and self-driving technology. He was recently the head of Uber’s self-driving programme and before that Uber’s head of robotics and autonomy engineering.

Josh Mohrer, 38, heads the Uber Business business, which is a huge division responsible for 90% of the company’s revenues and some of its most valued assets.

john Alderman, 51, is the executive who has been most resistant to employee calls for change. He is Uber’s head of strategy and a director on its board.

Katrina Lake, 56, was Uber’s chief product officer. She will take a leave of absence and resign from the board.
