Police say man, 27, posted fake email invitations that enticed 14-year-old girl to come over
A 27-year-old man from the Canadian city of Toronto has been arrested on child pornography charges.
Mark Richard Neiweem posted fake invitations on social media that enticed a 14-year-old girl to come over to his apartment, investigators said.
“She agreed to come over in order to play video games with him, but upon arrival the man initiated what were described as sexual acts with her,” police said in a statement on Wednesday.
“She physically resisted and ran out of the apartment to a nearby neighbourhood where she was able to notify her mother, who then contacted police.”
Neiweem was arrested on Monday and charged with sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, extortion and inviting children to engage in sexual activity. He is also facing charges from an earlier incident involving a 13-year-old girl.
“The charges described are not only abhorrent but also take the definition of child pornography to a whole new level,” said Toronto police inspector Steve Norris.
The investigation is ongoing.
